O my dear prophet, you are indeed a prophet / whom the whispers of Satan have overcome.
Doubts have conquered you, not from a clear statement / speaking with guidance or any proof.
Trembling with a sense of betrayal in the folds of the unseen / and the unseen is fierce in its secrecy.
His hunch guided him to it, yet it did not guide him / to a place for it or a time.
Nor to the fruit of it, while he hid / its secret from his watchful guardian.
Tell us the whole secret, O my prophet, / or here we are, equal in passion.
I am the one who knows traitors best, so have you / added anything to my understanding?
O my prophet, explain to us yourself what has been, / not what will be in some place.
